This Creative Thinking training course aims to help users explore the basics of creative thinking and to understand why creative thinking is an important skill to develop for both your personal and professional life, as well as helping them to understand how they can practice their creative thinking.
Creative thinking is one of the many fundamental skills that make human beings brilliant, and although some of us are naturally more creative than others, with practise, it’s something we can all improve. Four actionable tips will give you the starting point to help improve your creativity, which you can put into practice right away.
This course is split into two sections.
Put simply, creative thinking means ‘thinking outside the box’ or in other words it means thoughtfully approaching something from a new perspective.
It’s all about how your mind processes and creates new thoughts and ideas.
It is important to develop our creative thinking skills as it is absolutely crucial to the growth and success of both individuals and teams, which is why organisations need creative thinkers.
Creative thinkers are often resilient, self-reliant and confident when approaching both new and familiar challenges, which can lead to great personal and professional success and fulfilment.
Being a creative thinker is also great for self-expression, which can help you build stronger relationships and manage your emotions.
In this section the course covers four actionable tips:-
Research and Reflect - This is all about deliberately seeking out new information and new experiences, remembering what you’ve learned and making time for reflection.
Analyse and Interpret - This is all about identifying the important pieces of information and keeping it simple and practising mind-mapping. Mind-mapping is either a hand-drawn or digital chart which helps you link thoughts and ideas together.
Experiment and Create - This is all about challenging yourself to leave your comfort zone and take creative risks, not to let self-judgement and overthinking sabotage your creative thought process and challenging the norm with abstract thinking.
Communicate and Collaborate - This is all about collaborating with others to develop original ideas and overcoming challenges, keeping an open mind and championing and supporting the work of others.
Each of us has the ability to develop our own creative thinking and enjoy the personal and professional rewards it brings.
By practising the four actionable steps, you will find that your problem solving and interpersonal skills will improve, as well as your resilience and discipline, and you will open up a world of possibilities at work and in your personal endeavours.
This course can be completed in just 15 minutes and it provides the user with a printable certificate upon completion. You will also have access to downloadable PDFs that offer you a recap on the main points as well as a list of resources that you can use to explore this subject in more detail.
