This online GDPR EU Advanced (Management) training course is suitable for staff at a managerial level or anyone who is heavily involved in the creation, implementation, and management of data protection policies and procedures in their business.
The course aims to provide you with an in-depth understanding of the GDPR covering what the GDPR is, how data is processed, keeping data secure, the accountability principle and the rights that individuals have over their personal data.
It will also help you apply the knowledge you gain by setting real-life scenario-based questions.
This course is split into four sections.
This section covers the definition of Personal Data, which is anything which identifies or could identify someone and looks at the role of Data Controllers, Data Processors and Data Subjects.
There are 7 Principles of the GDPR that form the backbone of the Regulation and understanding and following these are considered fundamental to compliance.
Failing to do so can result in some of the harshest fines allowed under the Regulation.
The 7 principles can be split into 2 groups; the first 6 principles relate to how data should be processed and the final principle is about accountability, or in other words, about being able to prove that you’re complying with the first 6 principles.
This section of the course looks at these 7 principles in detail.
The responsibilities of the GDPR are all designed to create and uphold a set of individual rights.
In this section of the course you will explore each of the rights, what they are, what they mean, and what you need to do.
This section of the course presents three different scenarios for you to decide what is the best course of action to take in order to comply with GDPR which will help you put into practice what you have learnt on the course.
On completion of this course you will have an in-depth understanding of the 7 Principles of the GDPR and understand who has responsibilities under this Regulation. You will also understand why you must have lawful grounds for processing people’s data and must do so openly and fairly; how the data you collect and use must be adequate, sufficient, fit for purpose, accurate, and necessary; how you must take adequate precautions for keeping people’s data safe and secure from physical and digital threats from both inside and outside your organisation and your duty to be held accountable for all that you do with people’s data.
You will also have explored why, at its heart, this Regulation is about shared responsibilities that keep us all better protected.
This course can be completed in 65 minutes and on successful completion of the end-of-course test, a CPD accredited certificate will be available for download.
