This Essential Health and Safety training course covers the key areas of Health & Safety that organisations are legally obliged to train their staff in.

This introduction to the major topics in health & safety will help to keep your workplace safe. The training course takes a look at responsibilities and legal requirements, hazards and risks, safety signs, PPE, and workplace emergency procedures such as fire evacuation and calling the emergency services.

This course is split into two sections.

1. The Hazards

Although there are many different types of hazards, most workplace injuries and ill-health are down to a relatively small number of common causes such as slips, trips and falls, manual handling, DSE, environment, fire, electricity and hazardous substances.  This section takes each of these in turn and has an in depth look at simple but practical things you can do to reduce each of these dangers.

2. Health and safety responsibilities

This section covers responsibilities and legal requirements, communication and training, first aid and emergency procedures and accident book.

Conclusion

This course gives you a good grounding in general health and safety at work. When you have completed it, you will be able to:

• Identify key health and safety laws and understand how to comply with them
• Implement a range of risk prevention methods, including those relating to manual handling, fire hazards and display screen equipment
• Identify safety signage in the workplace
• List step-by-step procedures to follow in different types of emergency

The course concludes with a test.  On successful completion of this test a CPD accredited certificate will be available for download.
